Bio
Dr Silvia W. Gratz is a Senior Research Fellow at the Rowett Institute, University of Aberdeen. Her research in nutrition and food toxicology focusses on interactions of food contaminants and additives with digestive function, intestinal epithlia and gut microbiota. She assesses dietary exposure to food contaminants through food analysis and urinary biomonitoring in adults and children and applies in-vitro bioassays to predict bioaccessibility, absorption and colonic microbial metabolism of food contaminants in humans.
Dr Gratz's appointment as a member of the COT expires on 31st May 2025.
